Another hot afternoon

Another hot afternoon, the land has become still, and invites me to stop. To sit in silence, to surrender, to listen deeply and observe quietly.

In the distance, I hear the drowsy hum of insects. The occasional bird call is drifting through the heat. The light is bright, but with a soft touch of gold, an announcement of the slow turn of the seasons, which have begun their gentle shift. The whisper of a breeze moves the prayer flags ever so gently, an invitation to open up, to catch some of the prayers - the messages from beyond time and place.

And when I am ready to receive, I feel it: the gentle touch of kindness, the unconditional love of life itself.
